Painting/Weathering Hasegawa's Hitachi Zaxis 135 US from Scalemodelmedic

Hitachi Zaxis 135US Excavator paint and weathering video, in which I take Hasegawa's excellent 1/35 kit from primer through to intial weathering, covering some chipping, rust and dirt/mud.

Using a limited palette of products including Mig Ammo, Vallejo and Humbrol I tried to replicate the following effects:

- Dry Dust on the upper part of the model

- Dry and Damp Mud on the tracks/running gear

- Wet effects to add texture to the mud

- Chipping and scratches on the orange base coat

- Oil/fluid leaks on the hydraulics and articulated sections
